Amen to that!
I am not a person who believes in strict diets and total elimination of certain foods or food groups. It gets boring, and you will start craving the “forbidden” foods after a while. I also love food; food should be tasty and pleasing to the eye! If I were to summarise the principles I follow, it would probably be low carb – high quality.
I find that keeping refined carbs, such as sugar, to an absolute minimum while eating small portions of complex carbs, such as rye bread or beans, helps keeping my blood sugar levels in check and I also don’t get hungry as quickly. I avoid sugary snacks, cakes and soft drinks a they are packed with refined carbs that affect my blood sugar negatively but also are directly linked to weight gain.
